Traditional Nepalese singing bowls are often handcrafted from copper-based alloys, while some premium bowls contain a blend of several metals.

What About Seven-Metal Singing Bowls?
You may have heard that traditional Tibetan or Nepalese singing bowls are always made from seven sacred metals.
It’s a beautiful and widely repeated tradition, but it shouldn’t be treated as a rule for every bowl. Scientific analysis of a Nepalese singing bowl found that it consisted mainly of copper and tin, with much smaller amounts of other elements.
It is therefore better to check the actual materials specified for an individual bowl rather than assume that every traditional singing bowl contains seven metals.

There isn’t one material, size or thickness that is automatically best. Your choice can depend on how you want to use the bowl, the style you prefer and your budget.
